Information We Collect

We collect personal information you provide when creating an account or using our services, including your name, email address, phone number, and location. For caregivers, we also collect professional information such as qualifications, certifications, and experience. We automatically collect usage data including log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and communication history on our platform. We do not record the video or sound of your calls. On some computers, and only if you agree before the call starts, we can save a written copy (a transcript) of what was said, along with a short summary, to help with safety, quality, and dispute resolution. On most phones this does not work, so nothing is saved (see our Terms of Service for details).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and improve our services — including matching families with caregivers, processing payments, sending notifications, and preventing fraud. We may also use your information to communicate with you about your account, respond to your inquiries, and send you updates about our services.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Between matched families and caregivers as necessary to facilitate care arrangements
  • With service providers who help us operate our platform, including video call services (Daily.co), payment processors (Stripe), SMS delivery (Twilio), email delivery (Resend, Brevo), call transcription and summarization (Groq), hosting and data storage (Vercel, Supabase), and analytics and error monitoring (Google Analytics, PostHog, Sentry)
  • When required by law, court order, or other legal process
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Senior Match Care, our users, or others

Information is shared with these providers through secure, encrypted integrations and only as needed for them to perform services on our behalf. If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the “Last Updated” date above.

Sharing Contact Details After a Call

We share contact details only after you and the caregiver both say yes following a video call. At that point you each get the other’s phone number and email, so you can set up care directly.

SMS Communications

SMS consent is optional and is collected through a separate, unchecked checkbox on the signup form at /auth/signup. Checking the box is not a condition of using the service. By checking it, you agree to receive transactional SMS messages from Senior Match Care, including:

  • Booking confirmations when a call is scheduled
  • New call request notifications (caregivers)
  • Reminder messages approximately 5 minutes before a scheduled call
  • Mutual-match contact exchange notifications after a call
  • Post-call decision reminders
  • No-show, cancellation, and technical-failure notices
  • Weekly payout nudges (caregivers)
  • Welcome messages on signup

Message frequency varies based on your usage of the platform. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS — all messages are transactional and tied to your account activity.

No mobile information (including your phone number and SMS opt-in/consent data) will be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. SMS messages are delivered via Twilio strictly for the purpose of sending the messages described above.

For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us through our contact page. To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message we send. After you reply STOP, you will receive one final message confirming your opt-out, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt back in by replying START. Opting out of SMS may affect your ability to receive timely call reminders, but will not affect your ability to use the rest of the platform.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption of data in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time, and to opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP (see the SMS Communications section above). To exercise these rights, please contact us through our contact page or email us directly.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information unless we are legally required to retain it.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
